PE: Guidelines to Starting your Own Craft BusinessGuidelines to Starting your Own Crafting BusinessPE: Guidelines to Starting your Own Craft Business by Talty
So you make cute crafts, and probably someone offered you money for them. Maybe you need the money, and if you're like me, you need it to buy more crafting supplies. Whatever the reason, starting your own crafty business is a decisions that you should take seriously... it's not as easy as opening an Etsy account and setting some random prices for your work. There is a lot of things to consider to keep the business going, your money safe, your name clean, and your costumers happy.
By no means this is an absolute guide, merely a few guidelines of things I've found important or questions I get asked often by people interested in opening their own business. Most of this tips are intended for online selling, but they should apply for other ways of selling too. I will probably do more detailed guides in the future, as I learn more myself.
To begin with, don't forget to research as much as you can! If you're rea

Tears kiss golden brows of feverfew,
blush pink primroses with sweet dew
and glisten on satin lips of rue,
whispering in the meadow, "I miss you."
A true romantic, you got down on one knee.
You took my hand and said, "Please, marry me."
"No, thanks," I replied, "but I'm not saying never."
"That's okay," you said, "I can wait forever."

Jan/Feb AC Monthly Challenge [+winners]At the end of each year, many of us take the time to reflect on what the year has brought in terms of both highs and lows. We look to the good things for encouragement, whilst paying mind to other things we'd like to improve on in the coming year. Some go as far as setting themselves formal goals and resolutions to achieve, whilst others simply internalise desires to go one better.Jan/Feb AC Monthly Challenge [+winners] by cakecrumbs
This is often the case among artists as we look back on our progress over the year. We celebrate the things we achieved, progressed in and became more skilled at. But we often think of the skills we're yet to develop and resolve to work on that in the new year.
In keeping with this spirit, the theme this month is New Years Resolutions. We're going to challenge you to embrace new crafts and skills you've always wanted to have a go at, but have never gotten around to.
Because I'm slightly late in kicking this off, and I'd like to give you as much time as possible to delve into new crafts, this is going
Why I Cook: My Wife's Fight With Food AllergiesFood is universal. It spans cultures and continents and countries. We treat our friends and family to lunch. We take clients and strangers out to dinner. We buy treats for our pets, and maybe sneak them a little of what we're snacking on. We feed the bird in the park, the fish at the ornamental pond, the monkeys at the zoo despite the sign. Can you imagine anything so alien and ostracizing as somebody who does not eat?Why I Cook: My Wife's Fight With Food Allergies by Windthin
When you cannot eat with others, it gets lonely. You feel conspicuous and left out. If you come along, you have that terribly awkardness of watching others eating. If you don't, you know you're missing out on socialization because of it. And we eat socially. Parties and picnics and barbecues. A snack here, a bowl of popcorn there, a jaunt to a restaurant after your meeting or play or movie. And to make matters worse, others notice, and ask, and wonder, and pity.
Five and a half years ago, during a cold and blustery December, my wife went in to the hospital w

I have mastered sweetness.
By the end of this day I will have calculated
exact measurements of cream
to wipe clean the face of gravestones.
I will have learned to soothe the aching
of windswept hearts,
to break open on my part
like a shell of chocolate
quivering open, full of cream.
I will have learned to love grief
as dearly as my own dream.
At the end of my childhood -my dream-
of owning a candy store:
a sweet shop, a bakery….
specializing in the art of the glazed.
The wedding cakes, the brick tarts,
memory of a birthday, of candles, happy catering
for happy occasions of all kinds…
will grow up with time,
and like the end of the day, seeing the look o

Put 3 eggs and 4oz of caster sugar in a large bowl standing over a pan of hot water. Use an electric whisk to whip until stiff, light and creamy. In the kitchen, my Mum is an expert from experience. Her baking is never too fancy, nothing over-the-top; her meals are never pretentious. Rather, her values are for tried-and-tested recipes that have, and will, stand the test of time. Slowly sift 2oz flour over the mixture and fold in very lightly using a tablespoon. She still measures using ounces and I like it I have become adept at measuring and converting imperial and metric units and love the feel of past generations in her time-honoured recipe of '2 eggs and 2oz each of sugar, butter and flour.' Add the remaining 2oz flour or cocoa powder in the same way and lightly stir in the hot water. Line a swiss roll tin, 9x12 inches with non-stick baking paper and pour in the mixture, making sure it covers the whole surface evenly. Even hundreds of miles from home I can imagine, clear as
Summers' Bliss Chiffon CakeThere isn't much to Arizona for the outdoor loving northerner from Michigan with its bountiful natural life offered there, but there is one thing that Arizona has over Michigan.Summers' Bliss Chiffon Cake by IMntHRimEVRYWHER
The smell of citrus blossoms filling the air around your heed warning to whats to come; fresh citron. Oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and for the lucky few, limes.
At first, it goes slow, only a small number of succulent fruit ripening at a time. However, soon you become overwhelmed by the amount of fruit coming off the tree. Now if you don't personally have any citrus trees in your backyard, don't worry, you won't be left out. You will become surrounded by them no matter where you go. Super markets begin to pile them high at the door. Neighbours will bring you grocery sacks full of them to get rid of them. And the dreaded co-workers who you though were friends begin to bring in bushels in, tempting you with their vibrant colour, succulantly sweet and juicy flesh.
In the blazing heat and in possession of all this
